- a traditional fishing ground for North Uist boatmen.
Grimsay boats land their prized catches of lobster, crab and prawns at Kallin Shellfish.
The island of Grimsay has a long tradition of sea-faring, and of boat-building. The skills are preserved and developed by the local Grimsay Boat-shed.
The Grimsay Community Centre plans to build a boat haven
to showcase the traditional skills of Grimsay boat-building, particularly those of the Stewart family.
